The Federation of Galician Cultural Entities in Catalonia organized last August, 7 a tribute to Xosé Manuel Seivane in which he was given a diploma in recognition of his career in favour of the Galician traditional music, and his labour heading Obradoiro de Gaitas Seivane.

Xosé Manuel was received in the council by the Mayor of Ribadeo, Mr. Fernando Suárez Barcia, authorities from the presidential and vice presidential departments of the Galician government and from the Provincial Council of Lugo, and also by the President of the federation organizing the act, Mr. Luís Lamas Álvarez, and many people from the associated entities. After the reception, all the attendees visited the monument to the bagpiper and held a lunch of brotherhood.
