Seivane

Xosé Manuel Seivane Magide read the speech of the Muiñeira Day in Pontedeume.

On Sunday, May 30, Xosé Manuel Seivane was the person in charge of reading the opening address at the XXVII Edition of the Muiñeira Day in Pontedeume, that is organized every year by Orballo Folkloric and Cultural Association.

At the Raxoi avenue, more than 200 dancers participated in this act by dancing the “Muiñeira do Molete”, that was chosen this year by Orballo Folkloric and Cultural Association for the event and that was performed by the Orballo band of bagpipes.

Xosé Manuel Seivane thanked the folk groups for maintaining traditions and teaching traditional dance and music to younger generations, a good that would be lost without them, and also he emphasized the important role of parents to transmit it to their children, encouraging everyone to continue making efforts to maintain, spread and to put in value the Galician traditions.

In appreciation of his presence in this day, his career and for the wonderful work that at the moment he is developing in the Obradoiro de Gaitas Seivane, Xosé Manuel Seivane received a gift from Orballo Cultural Association.
